NVIDIA's GeForce RTX™ 50 Series Laptop GPUs are now the default choice for new gaming laptops in the UAE, from entry-level RTX™ 5050 machines to flagship RTX™ 5090 systems. What is new in RTX 50 Series laptops?
- Blackwell architecture. NVIDIA announced the RTX 50 Series laptop GPUs at CES in January 2025, built on its Blackwell architecture with 5th-generation Tensor Cores and GDDR7 memory.
- DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. In supported games, DLSS 4 can generate up to three additional frames for every traditionally rendered frame. NVIDIA quotes up to 8X the performance of brute-force rendering in its own testing; real gains depend on the game and settings.
- Better efficiency. NVIDIA says the new Max-Q technologies deliver up to 40% longer battery life than the previous generation.

Tip: the same GPU can perform very differently depending on how much power (TGP) the laptop maker allows and how good the cooling is. Always compare the TGP, not only the GPU name.

Intel® Core™ Ultra 200HX: the CPU side
Many new RTX 50 laptops pair the GPU with Intel® Core™ Ultra 200HX processors. The Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 processor 255HX has 20 cores (8 Performance + 12 Efficient) and up to 5.2GHz; the Core™ Ultra 9 processor 275HX has 24 cores and up to 5.4GHz. Both include an integrated NPU for AI features.
Bottom line
For most gamers in the UAE, an RTX™ 5060 laptop with a 165Hz screen and 16GB of RAM is the sweet spot. Step up to RTX™ 5070 Ti or above for 1440p at max settings or creative work. Not sure?
